This silvery-grey beauty is spun from a naturally marbled blend of Blackface Leicester and Jacob sheep wool, drawing its soft sheen from the blacks, greys, and whites of these time-honored breeds. Un-dyed and minimally processed, this 2-ply fingering weight yarn is elastic, soft, and full of life, perfect for everyday garments that are as practical as they are beautiful.
Each skein is approximately 200 yards and ideal for cozy socks, drapey cardigans, or that lightweight shawl you’ll reach for season after season.
The story behind this yarn is as meaningful as the fiber itself. The wool was rescued from a farm where sheep graze to maintain the land, fleeces that were once discarded and buried as waste. In exchange for lending a hand on the farm, I was able to collect this unique wool and bring it to a woman-owned mill in Northern California. There, it was thoughtfully spun into this beautiful yarn.
